Photo Resizer and Mihov Image Resizer have pros and cons for each. The major pro for Photo Resizer is that it is alot more "user-friendly", however the image quality is lower. So if you dont want to learn much, then this is the program for you. However, if you are concerned with picture quality, then I recommend Mihov's Image Resizer. It is harder to learn to use though, but the picture tutorial should assist with the learning process greatly.

1) This is how your default screen should look once you install it and open it for the first time.

2) Press the Open/New button and find the pic you want to resize. Chose it and press open as identified in the diagram below.

3) First you have to check to see which option, width or height is bigger (as shown in circle #1). Whichever is bigger that is the one you are going to adjust. In this case, my width is bigger so I change it to 900, and the height adjusts automatically. Always change the bigger one to 900. In circle #2, after you change the height and the quality ( quality = 90% ), press the "Resize" button and you will see a new file size.

4) After you change the width, height & quality percentage, and press the "Resize" button the new photo size will be displayed in blue (look at #2 for assistance). This is the size you are concerned with, make sure that this file size says less than 500,000. In the picture in the diagram below, the filesize of the new pic is 103,446 bytes. (500k = 500,000 bytes).

5) Try several different quality levels. The higher the level the bigger the file size. Play aroud with it. Just save the pic as different names and see which looks better, or if they all look the same, use the one that takes up the least diskspace.
