Prev (Photo Resizer)

Photo Resizer and Mihov Image Resizer have pros and cons for each. The major pro for Photo Resizer is that it is alot more "user-friendly", however the image quality is lower. So if you dont want to learn much, then this is the program for you. However, if you are concerned with picture quality, then I recommend Mihov's Image Resizer. It is harder to learn to use though, but the picture tutorial should assist with the learning process greatly.

1) Ok. The first thing you are going to do..is navigate (go) to the folder that your pics are in. If you dont know, you should do that outside of the program then figure out how you get to the directory and do that in the program. If they are in 'My Documents' the path is C:\ (C Drive) -> Documents & Settings -> Username -> My Documents -> My Pictures ( for Windows XP ). This is #1, then press the 'JPG' tab as shown in #2. For #3 this is where lists the files within the current folder selected. So this is where you will see your pictures. Once you have chosen the correct folder, if you dont have the preview images window, go to File-> Preview Image. |

2) Once the 'JPG' tab is picked, you will now see the options highlighted in steps #2, 3 & 4. Once you have your picture highlighted change the quality up to Normal Quality (faster), then change the number in the Pixels box to 900 from the default, 640, then press resize. It will automatically save the pic as Mini-<current pic name> and it will save it in the same directory as the original picture.

That's it. You're done. Personally I prefer this program as the quality comes out alot better. This program also allows you to convert the various image types. The tabs at the top, from .gif to .jpg, .jpg to .gif, .bmp to .jpg, etc. The preferred file type is .jpg. So if you have images of any other type, convert them to jpg before putting them up. It's very easy. All you do is select the image you wish to convert and press the appropriate tab, and press convert. Couldn't be easier. The filename will be <current filename>.<dot><new extension> (example, .jpg)

The most challenging part of using this program is understanding how to find your pictures. Once you learn, its alot more effective and easier. Enjoy! :)
